INVE Technologies is a company active in the field of aquaculture. It is specialized in the production of formulated diets and Artemia cysts (dormant eggs of brine shrimp) as food for youngest life stages of fish and shrimp, probiotic products to support the health of fish and shrimp, and a range of products to improve the quality of the water in which fish and shrimp are being cultured.

Job Purpose

  • You support the scientific work and new product development within the Innovations and Product Departments
  • You execute and report on (routine) R&D experiments, laboratory analyses, and other support tasks

Key Responsibilities

  • Support scientific work and new product development within the Innovations and Product Departments by:
    • Accurately and autonomously performing specific analytical tests according to the established laboratory procedures and protocols. (eg: COD, dry matter leaching, proximate analyses, oil leaching, hatching percentage of Artemia cysts, Artemia cyst counts, moisture content, …)
    • Accurately and autonomously performing experimental tests following the established DOE (Design Of Experiment) and according to good laboratory practices and internal standards and procedures.
    • Preparing and assisting in the production of experimental dietary formulations, which includes weighing, mixing, production, drying.
    • Executing routine support activities in an organized and structured approach, such as arranging shipments of experimental products and materials, arranging orders and analysis requests with third-party service providers and suppliers
    • Proactively communicating status updates and properly reporting data to scientists.
    • Contributing to general lab management including upholding (bio)safety measures as well as maintenance and calibration of equipment, in collaboration with the lab manager.
    • Contributing to the revision and the alignment of protocols with QC labs within the organization.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor in one of the following fields: Laboratory Techniques, Biochemistry, Bioscience Engineering, Biotechnology, Microbiology
  • Good knowledge of English (writing/speaking)
  • Previous experience in lab environment is an advantage

Job type:  full-time 39h/week, day regime – Permanent
