INVE Aquaculture has formalized its collaboration with Ghent University by becoming an Associate Partner of the Master in Health Management in Aquaculture (AquaH), reinforcing a relationship rooted in a shared history and long-standing scientific collaboration.
INVE was originally founded as a spin-off from Ghent University, with strong scientific ties to the university’s aquaculture and Artemia research. Over the years, this connection has evolved into an ongoing collaboration based on knowledge exchange, applied research, and direct engagement with students and academic staff.

This Associate Partnership builds on several years of consistent interaction between both institutions, including company visits, technical exchanges, student engagement, and applied learning initiatives. Formalizing this collaboration provides a structured framework to further strengthen activities that were already delivering mutual value.
As an Associate Partner, INVE Aquaculture will contribute to the Master’s programme through:
- Hands-on training and company visits, allowing students to experience real industry environments and gain first-hand exposure to the latest aquaculture technologies, including digital and AI-driven solutions such as SnappArt360.
- Internship and thesis opportunities focused on applied aquaculture research
- Direct interaction between students and aquaculture professionals, connecting academic training with operational reality

Rather than a symbolic agreement, the partnership reflects a shared conviction: the future of aquaculture depends on close integration between academic excellence and industry-driven innovation.
“Innovation is not limited to technologies or products, it starts with people and knowledge. Strengthening our collaboration with Ghent University, where our roots lie, allows us to contribute to talent development while maintaining a strong connection with the scientific community,” said Olivier Decamp, R&D Director at INVE Aquaculture.
By becoming an Associate Partner, INVE Aquaculture further consolidates its role as a biotechnology partner to the aquaculture industry, actively supporting education and capacity building as an extension of its R&D and long-term commitment to sustainable aquaculture.
