Celebrating Wim Tackaert’s remarkable career as he passes the baton to Daniel Arana, INVE Aquaculture’s new Regional Sales Director in the Americas

With profound gratitude, INVE Aquaculture announces the retirement of Wim Tackaert, Regional Sales Director for the Americas. As Wim prepares for his well-deserved retirement, INVE Aquaculture proudly welcomes Daniel Arana as his successor, effective since July 1st.

Wim Tackaert has been an integral part of INVE Aquaculture for over 32 years. He joined the company when it was just expanding into Artemia production and marketing. He started by leading production and quality control of Artemia from the Great Salt Lake and the CIS region, eventually transitioning to a commercial role in the early 2000s, leading sales operations in the Americas.

Reflecting on his career, Wim said:

“Some of my most memorable moments include setting up full traceability and improving the quality of Artemia, doubling processing capacity to accommodate new Artemia supplies from Turkmenistan, achieving record sales of 17 containers in one month, and introducing new Artemia technologies. Seeing FRiPPAK grow into the most successful shrimp hatchery diet and the introduction of world-class probiotics were significant milestones.”

Fernando Garcia Abad, Commercial Director of INVE Aquaculture, stated:

Having started my career in the Americas myself, I had the opportunity to meet Wim Tackaert in his early days and closely follow INVE’s successes in the region under his leadership. I witnessed the standard setting of the industry on Artemia, feeds with the FRiPPAK line, and health solutions, always with cutting-edge technologies and delivering cost-efficient tools to the industry.”

Fernando recognizes the essential role INVE Aquaculture must play in navigating the current challenging environment faced by the aquaculture industry. The way forward involves improving efficiencies across all production steps. The commercial strategy is focused on driving customer efficiency sustainably, with a strong emphasis on early nutrition and the expansion of new technologies in Artemia, diets, and health solutions, all grounded in science-based and market-driven innovation.

We now welcome Daniel Arana succeeding Wim in his position. We are confident that with his ample hands-on experience and having lived and engaged with the industry in the region, he will bring significant value to his team and peers. Daniel is a great addition to INVE’s Commercial team and will be instrumental in implementing the strategy in the Americas to deliver our goals and accelerate growth.”

Fernando concluded.

Daniel Arana brings 25 years of extensive experience in the aquaculture sector. His career spans production, technical, and commercial activities, initially in the Americas and later on a global scale. This diverse background has given him deep knowledge of the main commercially cultured fish and shrimp species worldwide.

“I recognize the importance of continuing the legacy built by Wim and his great contribution to aquaculture, not only in the Americas but also worldwide. I am confident that my knowledge of the Latin American market and the network developed over the years will support the company’s goals”

Daniel affirmed.

INVE Aquaculture is committed to advancing the aquaculture industry through innovative solutions and dedicated leadership. With Daniel Arana at the helm in the Americas, steering our seasoned and ambitious local operations, the company is poised to continue its trajectory of growth and success.

“Best of all: I made a lot of friends, many of them for life. I would like to thank INVE for the opportunities and wish the company many more years of growth and innovation in aquaculture.”, Wim Tackaert.
